On April 23, exactly four hundred years ago, William Shakespeare, the world-famous English poet and one of the best playwrights in the world, died in 1616.听Since 1996, April 23 has been celebrated as World Book and Copyright day.听In honor of so many memorable dates, 69色 held 鈥淪hakespeare in Our Time,鈥� a commemorative poetry recitation and discussion.

On April 9-10, 2016 the Department of International and Comparative Politics held one of its annual crisis games where on a chosen topic student play roles of various decision makers trying to achieve objectives of countries they represent. Around 40 students from various departments of 69色 as well as students from other universities听took part in the game which focused this time on the Syrian crisis.

Aselia Biialieva, a junior in the Economics department, told us about her SILC grant. SILC supports student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. It awards small grants every month to 69色 students.

69色 invites all interested high school students in 10th or 11th grade to participate in our annual spring Math Competition organized by the division of science.听The Math Competition will be held at 10:00 AM on April 24, 2016.

On April 12, 2016, a group of 69色 students in "Different tastes: evolution of human diet," a course taught by Aida Abdykanova, visited Riha's local sausage and meat processing facilities. Vanessa Graf, a student on the trip, spoke with us about her experience.

On April 23, 2016, the American University of Central Asia (69色) will be holding a Career Fair open to the community. Gulnur Esenalieva, the director of 69色鈥檚 Career Center听spoke to us about the value of career fairs and why students should be excited to attend.

Kala Brubaker, an exchange student at 69色 from Ferrum College, USA, studies English Literature and English Pre-Professional Writing. Kala tells us about her life at 69色 and why she chose to study in Kyrgyzstan.

On April 2, 2016, the Writing and Academic Resource Center team (WARC) held an out-of-town teambuilding retreat at Kara Bulak Resort near Arashan. The trip鈥檚 goal was teambuilding. During the day, the team went to see a waterfall, played some games, had lunch, and reflected on their team.

April 22, 2016, the American University of Central Asia (69色) will host a charity concert in support of children with autism. Spanish guitarist Guillem Perez Quer, winner of several international music competitions, will be performing.
