Are you curious about how people live, think, and connect in society? The Sociology Minor invites you to explore the forces that shape human behavior, social institutions, and everyday life.
This program will also give you valuable skills for your future career:
- Develop strong research, data analysis, and communication skills for real-world impact.
- Prepare for diverse and meaningful careers in social services, education, media, public policy, international organizations, and more.

Eligibility
- Minimum GPA 2.5 in your major.
- Permission from both your major coordinator and the minor program coordinator.
- Can be declared after your first year.
- Fill out the 鈥淒eclaration of a Minor鈥� form and submit it to the Registrar鈥檚 Office.
Our Requirements:
- Minimum 42 credits 鈥� all courses must be completed successfully.
- No state exam or senior thesis required!
Required Courses (18 credits):
- General Sociology (for non-sociologists) or Introduction to Sociology I or II - 6 credits
- Classical Social Theory or Contemporary Social Theory - 6 credits
- Qualitative or Quantitative Research Methods - 6 credits
Electives: choose 24 credits based on your interests!
