The 69ɫ IBL Program students take part in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. It is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from more than 700 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions. Among participating universities are the University of Oxford, University of Toronto, Harvard Law School, and many others.
The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the United Nations judicial organ. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case. This competition helps students gain a deeper knowledge of international law and develop the skills necessary to become successful lawyers.
The 69ɫ Jessup competition team members in 2021 participated in preliminary rounds of the competition successfully and advanced to the White & Case advanced rounds. Only 168 teams out of roughly 700 teams from all over the world were able to move to the advanced rounds with the 69ɫ IBL Program Jessup team being the only team from the Kyrgyz Republic to have made it to the advanced rounds.
