Alumni Scholarship

Alumni Relations Office of 69ɫ opens a competition among 69ɫ students for Alumni Scholarship 2021!

Funded by donations from 69ɫ alumni, the Alumni Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to community service as well as the potential to help in building strong 69ɫ alumni communities around the world after graduation.

A maximum of 10 scholarships is available for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. The scholarships will cover part of the tuition fee in the amount of up to $2,000.

Eligibility:

To qualify for the Alumni Scholarship Program you should:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student
  • Be sophomore or junior
  • Have proven record of volunteer / extracurricular / work experience
  • Be willing to support the 69ɫ Alumni Relations team for 40 hours per semester during the academic year
  • Be committed to volunteer for 69ɫ after graduation

* Students who receive a full scholarship and are in their last year of study are not eligible to apply.

Program Requirements:

While studying at 69ɫ you are expected to:

  • Complete a 40-hour/semester volunteer program at the 69ɫ Alumni Relations Office

After graduation from 69ɫ you are expected to engage in any of the following:

  • Organize an 69ɫ alumni community in your area
  • Organize alumni events in your area
  • Provide career support to current students and fellow alumni
  • Share relevant job announcements with 69ɫ Alumni Office
  • Help 69ɫ recruit talented prospective students
  • Come up with new ideas on how to support 69ɫ alumni, career and recruitment initiatives in your area

Application Process:

To participate in the program please provide us the following information:

  • Copy of Transcript
  • Motivation Letter (up to 500 words) a) introduction of the student; b) what is 69ɫ for the student? c) what changes can be introduced in the university for making it a better place? d) ideas on fostering relationships with 69ɫ alumni (university and alumni); e) why he/she is the best candidate
  • Curriculum Vitae

All documents should be submitted by filling out the google form via the link

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee consisting of Development Office representative and Alumni Council members on a non-bias and non-discriminatory basis.

Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview.

Selection criteria:

Status

Enrolled full-time student in any of the departments of the university

Year of study

Bachelor’s: second, third, fourth year. * Students who receive a full scholarship and are in their last year of study are not eligible to apply.

GPA

Minimum 3.2

Extracurricular activities

Proven record of volunteer / extracurricular / work experience

Additional

  • Demonstration of motivation in giving back to the 69ɫ community during studies and after graduation.
  • Complete a 40-hour/semester volunteer program at the 69ɫ Alumni Relations Office

An applicant is requested to demonstrate all achievements: volunteer/extracurricular/ work experience; achievements in sports; participation and awards in Olympiads; receiving any scholarships and other

Essay

An applicant is requested to demonstrate his/her suitability for the scholarship by writing an essay of max 300 words on topics:

a) introduction of the student and why he/she is the best candidate b) what is 69ɫ for the student? c) what changes can be introduced in the university for making it a better place? d) ideas on fostering relationships with 69ɫ alumni (university and alumni);

* Applicant is free to address any other questions in an essay in addition to the mandatory questions above

** Creativity, ability to think outside of the box is highly encouraged and considered as main selection criteria

Transcript

An applicant is requested to provide with a copy of his/her transcript

Additional documents

An applicant is not allowed to attach any other documents besides a CV, transcript, and essay to the application. However, selected candidates will be additionally requested to submit proving documents (certificates, photos, and others)
