Jypar Kerimalieva’s Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce the establishment of a special scholarship for the 69ɫ IBL students named after Jypar Kerimalieva. This scholarship has been initiated by the daughter of Jypar Kerimalieva - Gulnaz Naamatova, an IBL graduate (Summa cum laude) of 2009. Gulnaz Naamatova wants to pay tribute to all women on her way, who are helping and supporting her. The key woman in her life is her mother, Jypar Kerimalieva, who is a doctor, an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. In 2001 Jypar Kerimalieva established a group of medical companies, including the Express Plus laboratory and Avicenna medical clinic.
Jypar Kerimalieva’s scholarship will grant 1000 USD this year in support of 69ɫ IBL Program Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. This competition is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from more than 700 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions. It is administered by the International Law Students Association. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the United Nations judicial organ. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case. This competition helps students gain deeper knowledge of international law and develop skills necessary to become successful lawyers.
69ɫ IBL Program Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team consists of junior and senior students of the IBL Program. They have been selected to represent 69ɫ in this prestigious competition based on their communication, research, and critical thinking skills. The scholarship will be used to support the team’s travel to Washington, D.C., where the international rounds of the competition will be held in April of 2023.
We would like to thank Gulnaz Naamatova for initiating the Jypar Kerimalieva’s scholarship in a great support of our students!
